Qatar confirms five new cases of swine flu

DOHA: The Supreme Council of Health yesterday announced five new cases of swine flu in Qatar, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 17.

Multi-speciality daycare clinic opens in Doha

Qatar: Public warned against wrong use of antivirals

DOHA: The Supreme Council of Health has warned the public against taking the antiviral medicines Tamilflu (Oseltamivir) and Relenza (Zanamivir) for the treatment of, or protection against, swine flu (H1N1) without a prescription from a health care practitioner.

Therapy to treat ischemia to be introduced next month

DOHA: Hospitals in the country may soon be introducing the enhanced external counter pulsation (EECP) therapy, a procedure performed on individuals with ischemic cardiomyopathy to diminish the symptoms of their ischemia. This is the first time it has been introduced in the country.
