Assistant Chief of Nursing
This 250 bed facility was originally built as a private hospital in the 1990s, however, it was purchased by the Saudi government, and began offering services in March 2000. The KFSH-J offers 24-hour emergency care, short stay surgery, ophthalmology, dentistry, neurosciences, medical oncology, and cardiovascular services. The KFSH-J holds Joint Commission International Accreditation status. It is the sister hospital of the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh.
Since its opening, it has established four Centers of Excellence: the Department of Oncology (which has become the second largest cancer referral centre in the Middle East); the Cardiovascular Department, the Department of Neurosciences, and in July 2009 the ICU will increase from 14 beds to a 26 beds.
The hospital is undergoing a large expansion project that will bring it up to approximately 850 beds over the next three to four years, positioning itself as the largest referral centre in the western region.
Nursing Affairs is staffed by more than 800 nurses who have been recruited from Saudi Arabia and from around the world.
Job Summary:
The Assistant Chief of Nursing will serve on the Executive Team and reports to the Chief of Nursing Affairs. S/he is responsible for planning, designing, monitoring, and evaluating patient care and is accountable for operational outcomes. S/he will provide leadership in performance improvement and monitors outcomes for assigned clinical practice areas and operational programs in Nursing Affairs. S/he will contribute to the strategic and operational planning within Medical and Clinical Operations. S/he will participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of Nursing Affairs annual strategic plan.
Requirements:
* Must hold a Master’s degree in Nursing or related health discipline or MBA required.
* Must hold a current nursing license (RN) from Canada or the United States.
* Must have a minimum of eight years current progressive administrative and management experience working in a mid to large acute-care teaching hospital in North America.
