The Laboratory Planning Analyst supports the Senior Planning Consultant and Subject Matter Experts in the development and implementation of the required service areas. S/he gathers information on “best practice” in all of the Laboratory services area from several sources through primary and secondary research; analyzes and summarizes the information to draw conclusions and make recommendations. S/he uses policies and knowledge of procedural framework to fashion custom draft policies and procedures for SMRC. S/he assimilates clinical requiirements from focus groups and other sources as directed by the Sr. Planning Consultant for planning solutions to complex automation, Point of Care testing, Core, Stat Lab IT and staffing for Human Resources Planning needs for the project within a defined scope. S/he may be required to access information considered confidential and protected and complies with all relevant policies and procedures related to the use, disclosure and security of this information.

Requirements:

* Degree or Diploma in Medical Technology
* Post secondary education in Business or Healthcare Administration preferred
* Certified by the ASCP, NCA,CSMLS or equivalent .
* A minimum of 5 years experience working in a North American hospital laboratory environment.
* Must have start-up experience with lab implementation, planning and staffing
* Knowledge of current Laboratory accreditation standards is essential.
* Proficiency with MS Office, including MS Access required.
* Ability to use Internet for research.
* Strong analytical and research skills.
* Ability to prepare graphic, narrative materials and produce reports.
