The Department of Emergency Medicine provides 24-hour one-stop service for emergencies including resuscitations, critical emergencies and ambulant minor emergencies. Resuscitation and critical emergencies, which include acute coronary artery disease, pneumonia, acute abdomen, brochial asthma, strokes, toxic ingestions and major trauma of all varieties, are managed in a 6-bedded critical are area.

The Department also manages all types of ear, nose and throat, eye, dental and orthopaedic emergencies and also a variety of minor emergencies. In addition, the Department manages a 24-bedded Emergency Observation Ward which includes a 7-bedded Emergency Cardiac Care Unit. The Department has the only semi-automatic decontamination centre in Singapore.

Consultants / Associate Consultants / Registrars / Resident Physician positions are available in the Department of Emergency Medicine.

REQUIREMENTS

- Basic Medical Degree registrable with the Singapore Medical Council (SMC)

- Relevant post-graduate qualifications such MRCS (EM), MCEM, FRCS (A&E) or equivalent recognised by the SMC

- Those who have completed specialist training in Emergency Medicine recognised by the Singapore Accreditation Board can be considered for Associate Consultant or Consultant positions
