SENIOR DIETITIAN
Responsibilities:
· Identify nutritional problems, assess the nutritional status of the patients, develop nutrition care plans and monitor the effectiveness of dietary changes and outcomes
· Work in close liaison with the physicians, nurses and pharmacists to provide medical nutritional services required for the care, treatment and recovery of patients in the wards, intensive care and outpatients.
· Provide diet counseling and nutrition education on current evidence based nutrition practice.
· Provide community and corporate nutrition education
· Supervise the performance of dietitians & dietetic technicians
· Orientate and monitor new dietitians and dietetic technicians in terms of departmental functions and job related skills
· Train & supervise dietetic students on clinical attachments.
· Participate and perform audits in line with ISO, MSQH, HACCP, HALAL and JCI standards.
Requirements:
· Minimum degree in Dietetics and Nutrition from local or overseas university
· Minimum 5 – 6 years of experience in hospital setting.
· Comprehensive knowledge and application of medical nutrition therapy and food services.
· Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral communication in at least English and Bahasa Malaysia to patients, public and other healthcare professionals. Knowledge of other languages would be advantageous.
· Ability to function independently on assigned patient care units.
· Ability to motivate staff and promote teamwork.
· General knowledge of nutrient analysis and word processing.
· Good knowledge on food services and therapeutic diets.
